Arnaud Oliveux, Director of the Urban Art department at Artcurial, explains: “Artcurial has been a leading figure in Street Art sales and for over 10 years, we have had the pleasure and honour of putting forward artists, who have become leading figures of the scene. This auction offers a global vision of these artists and includes works by JonOne, Evol, Swoon and Rero.

In 2015, Artcurial confirmed its place as the leader of the Street Art movement, in particular for historic graffiti art. The auction house set a new world record with the sale of a piece by Dondy White. This auction on February 14th will include key pieces by American artists from the beginning of this movement but also works by other contemporary urban artists who have gained a reputation on the market, such as JonOne with his work Pick & Mix from 2013 (estimate 13 000 – 18 000 € / 13 975 – 19 350 $) and Almighty One (estimate 25 000 – 35 000 / 27 080 – 37 910 $) from 1993. JonOne started out as a graffiti artist who tagged trains in New York and today he expresses himself with as much intensity and emotion on canvas. This self-taught man has become a leading figure of the Street Art movement.
